Pros

The 3 owners Jeff, Blake and Ken were great people and I enjoyed working for them. It was a small tight group and I felt like part of the family with promotions to be available. They were able to keep me employed during a very tough time after 9/11 and I thank them for that.

Cons

I ran work for them as a G.F and while my Super was going through a very personally difficult time I stepped up over my duties to help him out and was NEVER recognised for it not even thanked by my Super who was also I thought to be a good friend. I ran the remodel at Studio 54 with NO Superintendent and finished 2 weeks early and my super that was on another job got the credit. He only was there 1 time during the 3 bar remodel. I worked directly with the P.M. at the time

Pros

Great personnel to interact and work with on a daily basis. Seem to bring out the best in you, and push you to strive to be the best you can be. Very ethical and professional. The company offers tons of internal training to help you expand your strong suites, and also allows frequent interaction with other employees to get to know one another and build contacts for resources. Also, the compensation and benefits for the company are top notch in the industry. Every year they tailor the benefit program based off of employee feedback, so it really is provided to be the best it can be for the employees.

Cons

Being in such a fast paced environment like Vegas the job does come with long working hours. A lot of this is driven off of the demand by the project Owners. Vegas is a very competitive market, and with this comes a priority to be as top notch as you can be. On the flip side, you'll be able to work on projects and see things that you won't see anywhere else in the world! PENTA understands this demand for long hours and does what it can to try and promote a work/life balance.

Good learning opportunities, little opportunity.

Pros

Penta has some of the most competent and hardest working people people in the industry. They care about their image in the industry.

Cons

Hard work is often not outwardly appreciated. With the bad economy, employees have been asked to work even harder while pay and appreciation has dropped. Management seems top heavy which does not allow room to move up. People are expected to work long hours to make up for understaffing.
