CEO of ProTools/RiskPro subsidiary was very unprofessional in both email and personal interactions. He would go on obscenity filled tirades that were not productive or constructive. He would also deny PTO requests, seemingly for no good reason. He had no idea how to run a software shop or the intricacies of development organizations. Priorities would change on a whim. Feature requests would be made without providing sufficient requirements.
An attempt was made at completely shuttering the ProTools/RiskPro operation in Ballard, but that didn’t succeed, so they laid off half of the staff while outsourcing development to an Indian company. The writing was on the wall for this to occur as they stopped hiring developers and other technical people but hired “product consultants" and other management instead. The remaining technical staff remain solely to keep the current product running and provide any remaining cross-training and data to the outsourcing company. The layoffs were poorly handled, remaining staff were left to watch those laid off as they boxed up their belongings.
