Pros

Well I guess it’s better than retail? The insurance is nice.

Cons

Employees do high level work, programming, ComSec for banks, managing databases, for $11-$17 an hour (less than half of the industry standards for many of the positions). Managers have a high turnover rate because of moral reasons and being just plain overworked. People who are found to be looking for better paying jobs are intimidated out of their job searches by management under threat of being laid off to make room for ‘more committed workers’. They parade representatives from companies around selling them on how ‘loyal’ we autistics are, how we are ‘little worker bees’, convincing these big banks and power companies that we won’t question the lack of PTO, 401k or the criminally low wages as long as they distract us with pizza Friday or something. Any neurodivergent person looking for a job is better off just going to work at a fast food joint.

The worst job experience of my life

Pros

It made my fast food service experience look good

Cons

I was pushed into accepting a salary way lower than my experience warranted and way lower than I needed to support my family because I “was like a baby knowing nothing, of no use to the company until I had more training.” At the time I had four years of experience as a professional software developer, and was expected to perform senior-level Python consulting work at $16/hr. We were also berated (illegally) about not being allowed to share any of our compensation details. When I questioned my “on site coach,” I was threatened with being transferred to another department where they would purposely make tasks as boring as possible for me. I experienced sexual harassment, and when I brought it up I was berated in front of the other employees- including my harasser. We were demeaned and talked over if we did anything to question our on site “coach.” Perhaps the most hypocritical: trying to get any accommodations implemented was like pulling teeth. And when I applied for unemployment after I had to quit from the environment, their representative illegally shared my medical history with the unemployment hearing’s presiding official to infantilize me and make my concerns appear childlike. For anyone considering entering this “program,” you’re worth more than this.

Pros

Support system for autistic individuals. Yet I was on the low-level so it didn't apply to me.

Cons

Digusting low level wages. No Career progression, and no benefits. What kind of professional job doesn't offer PTO and they make you bleed for unpaid time off too.
