Pros

For the first 10-12 years, this company was heaven. The founder and owner is one of the most professional, kind, encouraging, and knowledgeable humans I've ever met. Working for him motivated me to work harder and bring as much value to the table as possible. Everyone was excited to be in the office every day, and the company culture was unreal. Team building events felt natural, not forced. It was truly a dream to work with this group. However, things shifted drastically once ownership changed hands.

Cons

The two newer managing partners make little effort to hide that their main priorities are selfish and revolve around personal gain. They treat employees like they are disposable and easily replaced, they make snide comments about your work and your efforts, and they seem to enjoy making you feel incompetent. It has rapidly changed from a professional and empowering to a petty and competitive environment. I would say they are going to regret these changes once they start losing their core team members, but they've made it clear that they have people (friends or past colleagues of theirs) "filling the bench," ready to take jobs as they open up.

Pros

This review is based on my personal experience at Profero and my personal opinions. Former CEO cared about relationships built in the office and the work that was produced and is well respected. Most of the employees I worked with were hard workers and team players.

Cons

This review is based on my personal experience at Profero and my personal opinions. Current managing partners are the least professional leaders I have worked with. During my time at Profero the partners gossiped about employees and tried to pin colleagues against one another in an effort to create a competitive work environment. Having trust and respect for each other was planted in slides shown at monthly company meetings and not reflected day to day. In my opinion in the one partners eyes there is only one way to do things and somehow knows the best way to do everything. The one partner attempted to teach employees their way and if you didn’t adapt to that way of doing things you were most likely told you weren’t “meeting job expectations” or worse put on a PIP. If you are looking to bring your professional skill set to Profero you may be told that what you have been doing has been wrong all these years. After leaving Profero I reflected on my time at the company. The mental state I was in after working for the new partners was unhealthy and frankly unacceptable. Every day was a game and the only way to survive in the environment was to play. Do you think it’s a coincidence that there are 5 reviews all posted within 2 weeks of one another stating virtually the same thing? Many of the recent raving reviews state in the cons that the managing partners are busy and it’s hard to schedule time with them and in my experience this was true. During my time at Profero it was clear the partners did not trust or respect their leadership team or any of their employees enough to handle basic tasks and these minutiae tasks filled their calendars. There are plenty of Pharma supporting agencies with leaders who will uplift you every day by recognizing your good work and provide appropriate compensation without having to beg for it.

Pros

The best relationships are forged out of turmoil. I made lasting friendships amongst my peers, I consider myself very fortunate to have met such talented colleagues. The former CEO is incredibly kind and has so much to offer, I can’t wait to see what he goes on to do next.

Cons

My time at Profero was a practice in business ethics and lesson learned on how to protect yourself. Making a lateral move I began at Profero with a hungry and eager mindset ready to cash in on the promises of big pharma coaching. What I received was a hostile work environment where competitiveness and gossip led by the partners became company standards. In my time at Profero I witnessed talented hard working individuals who were confident and hungry evolve to skeletons of their former selves. The partners expectations of their staff is unrealistic at best, ultimately decided to leave Profero due to the toll it was having mentally on my wellbeing. For those who currently work there I urge you to document poor business practices and incidents that fall outside of what you would consider standard.
