Pros

The mission and many of the therapists

Cons

The owner and senior managers are belittling bullies with an incestuous environment. Employees are micro managed and treated poorly. Their pay scale is low . I was warned to run away from this place by several therapists in the Philadelphia area because of their reputation. I wish I had never stepped foot in the place. It's a dysfunctional place throughout. The irony is that the owner is fairly awful to women and this is supposed to be a place for women (and men too) to find treatment and safety.

Pros

There are no positives working for this horrible company except the satisfaction of knowing a patient has a successful outcome after treatment.

Cons

This company does not value it's hard working employees in any way. The CEO's only focus is on making money and will cheat staff, patients and insurers out of every penny possible. The company is at least 10 years behind in technology, has not embraced electronic medical records nor has upgraded software in years. Do not expect your cell phone or tablet to work here as service is poor and they have no wireless connections. The offices are drafty, desks and furniture and bathrooms are old and gross and the buildings need serious updating. Everyone has a space heater to keep warm. Upper management spends money opening new centers but doesn't invest in facilities, staff or salaries. Raises come once every few years and bonus are non existent. Any position here will step you backwards in your career path. I kept up my job search the first week of working here. Run, don't walk away from this employer!

Pros

Interesting population and some of the best clients. A lot of money seems to go to decent technology, so that’s nice.

Cons

Renfrew was an incredibly toxic place to work. The clinicians, dieticians, and supervisors are burnt out and it shows through the work they do. Some locations are better than others, but most are run like a tyranny. The work environment is ironically a lot like the family system of someone with an eating disorder: rigid, unforgiving, punitive. I was so disappointed because I thought Renfrew was going to be a place that inspired me as a clinician, but it only inspired me to leave agency work for good.
