It was a good place to work a few years ago but that ended

Pros

I can't think of any pros

Cons

Work life balance for top management is wonderful, but that balance at the consultant level was 0. A very negative and fear driven environment. Want to take a week off for vacation? Better be ready to quit. Work all year with no break as senior management takes off for weeks every year.

Pros

You'll meet interesting clients and people, most of who come from their GP practice which they intend on moving away from.

Cons

There are three cons: (1) After a few months at The Resource Group, I notice that the employee turnover seemed to be very high. After more than a year, it seemed to be quite peculiar; so much that I actually calculated it to be an average that 1 employee was either voluntarily or involuntarily separated from the company every 2 months. The second (2) con is that you will get no support. Whether you're professional services or sales, you'll get no support. You're on your own and are expected to report to management from day one. The third (3) con is the blatant religiosity of management. In several staff meetings, the CEO and CFO have said that they lead by their Christian faith. They had also tried to get everybody to subscribe to a faith-based collection of videos and songs. Again, beware.

The Resource Group Response

First, thank you for recognizing that we have interesting clients and employees. We rather enjoy our line of work and appreciate having the opportunity to help businesses increase their efficiency. It is very rewarding to help others by implementing new technologies, improving the solutions they have, or by recommending process changes. That is core to our mission at The Resource Group. Regarding some of the negative claims made in this review, I’d like to start by asserting, as the CEO, that I know this company isn’t perfect. In everything we do, we’re always seeking to improve, and to be honest that can sometimes be pretty difficult. It truly saddens me that anyone had such a poor experience, but I also think that some of the negative claims made in the review are misleading. Encouragingly, 92% of our employees in a recent survey stated they believe we are an appealing place to work for potential candidates! With respect to our employee turnover, it’s true that it was high last year. This was due to a combination of several factors, and not necessarily because of dissatisfaction with our company (as we learned from our exit interviews). I know this is also an era of change among many employees, so I do not think we are unique in that area. To your fourth point, I do not understand what precisely what lack of support means, but it is unfortunate that you did not feel you received that here. We strive to have employees support each other and my feedback from other employees is that they feel they are supported by management. Finally, regarding the ownership’s expression of our Christian faith, we always speak from a personal basis about what God is doing in our lives and in our business. We have never pushed our faith on anyone, nor have we hired, fired, or done any type of performance evaluation based upon a person’s religious beliefs. Faith, and the countless other beliefs that form an individual’s worldview, are the personal choice of each person. To us, our faith is part of our lives, and our business is part of our lives, so the two are intertwined. Regarding the videos, we made these available to all employees simply due to a desire to share something we appreciated. It was not mandatory to sign up, nor would we know who did or did not. Thank you for taking the time to evaluate our business. To other readers, thank you for taking the time to read my response. As a company, we hope that both customers and coworkers feel welcomed, supported, and respected in all their interactions with The Resource Group. Sincerely, Marty Schillaci, CEO

Not a Good Company

Pros

• Great coworkers • Interesting clients from a variety of industries

Cons

• Lack of direction for the company which makes this a volatile workplace. It's very difficult to keep up with constant changes • No mentoring or training for new employees. Once you start they will throw you into the "deep end" and it's up to you whether you sink or swim • High employee turn over rate • Lower than average salary and poor medical benefits • No work/life balance (you will work more than 40 hrs/week guaranteed, including some holidays and even on your vacations) • Religion is constantly brought into the workplace by the owners and there is a blatant disregard for employees that don't follow the same beliefs • They send out daily "shame emails" to show which employees did not enter their time sheet the day before
