Nice people, sinking ship

Pros

The Sak has some good things going for it in that you can work from home, it’s flexible, benefits are good and people are kind. It has a family-like atmosphere which has recently become increasingly toxic for a number of reasons.

Cons

Do not expect your expertise or professional opinion to be heard or valued. At this point you are simply there to carry out the whims of leadership, no matter how much they go against best practices or Business logic. Extremely frustrating and teams are always working urgently to put out fires and make up for delayed product and shortcomings with no time to properly plan and strategize. Company strategy changes month to month. When something fails, it is your fault, when something sticks, you do not get credit.

Pros

The teams are great to work with and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Great benefits (like WFH, summer Fridays, company outings, etc.) and all usable with no issues from management

Cons

Everything is always changing - the management team will have a meeting one month saying our new product is red then 2 weeks later, hard stop, the new product is blue... they are a handbag company but, at one point, they manufactured paddleboards for some reason... they had an all company meeting to get ideas from the team on how to better increase processes then never used any of the ideas from said meeting... just some examples of the back and forth during my time there. It's very difficult to grow a company and be successful when the message is always in flux. Also, because of all the soft benefits, their salaries aren't as competitive
