Pros

Some of the very best reporters, editors, photographers, researchers and page designers can be found at The Star-Ledger. It still breaks news and covers the state of New Jersey with vigor.

Cons

The Star-Ledger has shed a lot of talent over the past couple of years and struggles against declining circulation numbers. It seems destined to suffer the same fate as other Advanced Publication properties.

The work was often varied in a good way. Gratifying. And we were given the ability to stretch out talents and skills.

Cons

There was poor management. The environment of the product kept changing and as a result, there was often a struggle to get ahead.

Pros

The people at The Star Ledger are nice and for the most part, hard workers. The salaries were good, before the pay cuts.

Cons

The management is awful, they suck all the money out of the company. The Star Ledger would be profitable if they got rid of the top executives who do nothing but buy lunches,give themselves raises and bonuses while they lay off staff.
