Pros

The mission is one that is important and life-saving. The direct service staff is amazingly passionate and empathetic.

Cons

Upper management is completely disconnected from the mission and the severe impact the work takes on the mental health of the direct service staff. They’re running the organization as a corporation and expecting the employees who actually communicate with young people on the lines, text, or chat to act like robots.

Pros

The work aligns with my values, I get to work from home, I like my coworkers, and the pay isn't bad.

Cons

Overbearing management, multiple rounds of layoffs & restructuring, c-suite making 6 figures while folks on the front lines are struggling to get by with the rising cost-of-living, stressful work, and bad communication.
