The fact that this is (still) a 'legitimate', running business is beyond mind-blowing. The whole operation must be completely funded by debt. There's just no way that the numbers work given how little the agency charges for its services (see: numerous, spontaneously agreed-to, pro-bono projects at any given time), how often projects go beyond scope (and timeline) and how much the company must pay out in expenses on the monthly basis. Management knows hardly anything about how to run a business, even in the most fundamental sense of charging against time spent by its (hugely unfortunate and poorly treated) workers.
To compensate, immense amounts of work are loaded onto a small team that, while talented, does not have even close-to-enough time and resources to get everything done, with new projects rolling in on an almost weekly basis. Undercharging and overpromising on deliverables and timeline sets the stage for all strife, stress, and misery experienced in this office (which is perpetual).
Management fancies it(him)self a genius, but must be one of the most incompetent, illogical, and delusional individuals one could ever encounter in work (or normal daily) life. Creatives are granted absolutely no freedom to **create** anything, and are instead treated like pawns, carrying out the usually altogether-absent, but ALWAYS incomprehensibly-terrible direction of management, who changes his mind, denies previously-given direction, and straight-up lies to their faces every. single. day.
This is not to mention that even getting paid on time - or even at all - is not promised. Pay has been withheld for days (even a week) for either financial reasons, or because of personal, childish grudges held by management against employees trying to stand up for themselves or their work.
There is so much more to write that can't fit within this entry field that is wrong with this place. Management is horrifying immature, psychologically sick, and beyond disrespectful to its employees, while trying to keep them around with false promises of raises, meaningless gifts, a few big-name clients (that end up ultimately disappointed) and guilt/fear tactics.
If you don't like being lied-to, disrespected, worrying about the future of your job (and your company), getting bullied, doing work over and over again with zero independence/ownership, and wondering if you'll be able to pay the bills for the month since your check is 4 days late, stay far, far, far away.
