False Promises

Pros

Lot of opportunity to get involved on almost any aspect of the project. Always an opportunity to learn and get additional training.

Cons

Never a shortage of work. They will use an abuse your ambition, and continue to pile more on your plate. Unfortunately, they make plenty of false promises for raises and promotions, but always have a clever excuse when it comes time to adjust your pay. Vince Piscopo is the devil. Most of the executives keep salaries low so that they can collect a bigger bonus. It's disgusting.

Pros

Large projects and learning opportunity for freshers. Good co-workers depending on which job and program manager you work for. Health benefit used to be good but they increased the premiums. Experienced professionals should steer clear.

Cons

Salary is well below industry average and terrible work culture. Company is all about profit and doesn't care about it's employees unless you are related or know someone in upper management. They hire cheap inexperienced laborers and engineers, experienced people turn down offers due to extreme low-balling.They do not honor their word. Communication across the channel is a mess and everything is a need to know basis. Employees are kept in the dark most of the times. All the jobs are understaffed so expect to work a minimum of 50-60 hr work weeks, without additional compensation, don't expect merit raises or adequate cost of living raises. Most if not all employees are white. Definitely not for immigrants or people of color. HR has no clue about immigration procedures. Don't fall for bonus percent at the time of offer. It's lucrative but you can forget about getting bonus on most Walsh Jobs. I received 1 partial bonus in 5 years!! Trust me you will waste your time trying to build your career here.

Pros

Interesting projects, okay salary. Not much else

Cons

No work life balance. Asked to work 65-70hr weeks including most Saturday’s with no extra pay. Then they shame you if you take PTO and make you feel guilty to even ask. Project managers just want to satisfy their own bosses and fail to train the engineers beneath them. They expect a lot out of you without first training and teaching you how to even get it done in the first place. The company preaches family values but there are almost no social events and you only actually know the handful of people on your job site. Plus you hardly even have time to be around your own family. Been here for a few years and haven’t received a full bonus standard to other companies. Misogynistic culture inherent to construction.
