Pros

The company does house some genuinely pleasant individuals, particularly among those involved in project-based roles.

Cons

It's evident that the company has been underperforming for a considerable period of time given the volume of turnover and layoffs. The remuneration does not match industry standards and there has been a palpable downturn in the work environment recently. While there are opportunities to gain valuable experience, they are fewer and farther between than one might ideally expect. Regrettably, the situation appears to be deteriorating further, making it advisable to explore other potential options.

Thanks for sharing your candid feedback. We're concerned that you feel there's a downturn in the team environment, and we’re working very hard to be transparent and maintain trust with Thinkers. We acknowledge how difficult this year’s economic challenges have been for our industry and team. While painful for everyone across the company, the recent layoffs are unique in our history. And when looking at what’s happening with our peers and in the broader business community, we know that Think Company is in a strong position comparatively. Client feedback and confidence is steady, and the work we’re doing is better than it has ever been. We’ve been investing heavily in our internal processes and capabilities so that we have the foundational elements we need to move forward. With sincerity, all of this—paired with the positive conversations we’re having with future clients—gives us a great deal of optimism about our future. We hope we can regain your trust and that you’ll be here with us to see and contribute to where we take Think Company next.

Pros

The people really are genuinely kind and supportive. Think is really good at hiring nice people and giving people from all different backgrounds a chance. Even though Think is already way better than most places they still put a huge focus on DEI which is great to see.

Cons

Think is really good at presenting a pretty picture up front and then being disappointing. You get told about exciting work and great salary and being a place to learn and grow. Maybe these work out some times for some people but definitely not most of the time for most people. We still doing the same kind of work for the same kind of clients and mostly ones that nobody even wants to be working with. Most people on projects are unhappy with the work they have to do and the money they make. Culture is suffering. Free pizza, shrimp boils, and water bottles isnt fixing it. Encouraging people to come into the office more isnt fixing it. Yoga and wellness calendars isnt fixing it. Managers dont do project work except for advising on some and probably havent in years. Clear gap between people doing project work and managers / leadership. Good luck ever getting promoted too. Eventually even great employees realize theyll be valued way more somewhere else with more opportunity. Maybe Think Company used to be ahead of the curve on things but they aren't anymore

Toxic Work Environment

Pros

Learned a lot about agency style of working Learned a lot about web development projects

Cons

Boss was a total bully - was not coached, was expected to be perfect from day one. Most of the issues I faced were all considered "my fault" but policies were put in place for people hired after me that would prevent those issues from happening to them. Two out of four projects that I was assigned out of the gate had scoping/estimating issues and it was on my shoulders to fix it. Disorganized - lots of disjointed systems that were time consuming with lots of opportunity for error.
