Pros

I'm not sure I would have made it through Covid without Think Tech. They made sure that I had the support at work to be able to succeed while also understanding I had children at home with needs of their own. I was given solid encouragement and support from senior leadership to take the time to succeed at both. I have a flexible schedule that can accommodate appointments, meetings, and just periods away from work for my mental health. Senior Leadership is accessible and always willing to listen to any issues or suggestions I have. I feel absolutely supported. I also genuinely enjoy the people I work with. We have fun together, but we also understand this is a business and we need to get things done. Think Tech goes out of its way to promote team building and a fun working environment. I'm challenged to think critically and given the support, but also the opportunity, to make independent decisions on projects. My experienced opinion and what I bring to the table is valued and appreciated.

Cons

With a small company, there sometimes aren't clear paths for promotion. But with that comes conversations with senior leadership on how to put my skills to good use and build a niche for myself. I'm able to chart my own course instead of following a predetermined path.

Pros

-Projects and project manager is top notch(*tier 3 project engineer left company in early 2022). -Service desk meetings are not too frequent, meetings are organized. -Small company and that’s good for some people. -Most engineers communicate and work as a team. -Yearly company outings and lunches for new hires. -Break room and free coffee/snacks. -Provided or purchased necessary equipment to handle tasks. -Donated some older PCs to local charity. -Office location is nice, near North Hills and inside 440 belt line. -Offers opportunities to volunteer in community. -Allowed employees to be remote during COVID pandemic. -PTO requests are approved unless multiple coworkers are already off.

Cons

-Frequent employee turnover -Good at making plans, poor in execution. -Company suffers from a lack of real leadership. -TTA has been in business for over 20 years and functions in a way that would make you think it’s been in existence for less than 5 years. -Lacks formulated processes and procedures, invents them on the fly as issues arise. -The lone HR employee is particularly difficult. It’s a known secret to avoid said employee when possible. -Training plans don’t exist. I can’t express my displeasure with the lack of training enough. I hope this changes for those who come after me. Their job adverts claim industry leading training - this is absolutely false. -Management routinely throws out the line “the owner is not running a charity” during meetings with service desk staff. -Will not ditch cubicles for a modern office setting -Service manager is married to the job/company and has a tendency to take critiques of the business personally. My hope is that this company realizes what it is for employees and doesn’t venture from that without a real plan. As of right now, this company lacks the ability employ any technician who isn’t tier 2 or above. Not because the work requires that level of technical expertise, Think Tech just isn’t interested in progressing inexperienced engineers. Their job postings should advertise for experienced engineers only. With all of this said, there are some very talented engineers at Think Tech and the company would be much better off if those engineers could wrestle leadership roles away from the current occupants.

Pros

Great technical and leadership teams. Without a doubt one of the best places I’ve ever worked. Very good culture that is both fun and professional. Family friendly environment with good flexibility when needing to take care of personal appointments. Leadership is always looking for ways to improve things even more both for employees and for clients. Suggestions and concerns are heard and followed through on appropriately. Great benefits provided. Free snacks and coffee always available in break room! Continuous learning and improvement is encouraged.

Cons

While SOPs are continually improving, there is still room for improvement.
