Pros

some nice people work here

Cons

So many. Within 6 months you will remember this review and wish you had taken it seriously. You will work with bad data, in a system that no one really understands, with unhappy disgruntled passive aggressive people. If you are in a position of reporting that data you will be blamed and asked "why"? Two types of workers thrive here - those that do not mind being viewed as a bit dumb but shows up every day and frequently says "no one ever taught me that" and those that are exceptionally skilled at lying and cover ups, and complete bs confusing explanations that leave people saying oh ok - because they don't want to say they have no idea what the person is talking about. If you are skilled in any way do not work here - oh they will use you for everything they can get, but promotion? pay? no way. This is a system built on people clinging to the power they obtained many years ago that all know each other and want things status quo -the key execs and their favorites fell into their positions and will not give over power easily

Pros

Some of the most caring, wonderful people work there! The CEO is making positive strides into making this the best hospital in the region.

Cons

PTO is accrued at 6 hours per pay, there are NO paid holidays, so that PTO time you accrue MUST be used for holidays. Poor pay and a lot of high expectations. The area I worked in seems to be held at a much higher level than other departments. It came to be a revolving door, At times department management is very petty and micromanaging, sadly, they are completely miserable and pass that onto employees. However, it is not shown outside the department. It is VERY stressful. Internal positions are filled by outside, rather than within. The hospital is growing, however, support offices remain sparse.

Pros

Marketable pay, full benefits package. Management and non-management seems to genuinely attempt to uphold CARES values. Financially, the organization tries very hard to be a good steward of health care money resources. This is a good sized organization, not too small or too large. There is a strong community support of Thompson and there seems to be an attitude of giving. There is plenty of opportunity to get involved.

Cons

The heath insurance benefits are a little too expensive. Also, staffing in the Continuing Care Center needs to be addressed ASAP. I do not currently work there, but did and there seems to be misuse of the mandation. Successful survey's are the result bedside staff going above and beyond reasonable measures.
