Sales reps have to pay for all of their own technology and are forced to have a computer, printer, and scanner as well as the tools/equipment the company do not provide to conduct an inspection. I would recommend being prepared to spend $1,500 on technology and equipment before you even make a dollar from this company.
Although the owner is a very respected man, the people that are now in management roles within the company have changed the company for the worse. The ultimate goal was hold onto the family feeling, but recently it has become very corporate.
Management tends to sugar coat everything to try and justify their actions. For instance: they lowered commission percentage for sales reps and increased the price of their products all while telling the sales reps this was going to be good for them. An increase in product prices and a decrease in sales commission percentages is not good for sales reps.
The ability for everyone to make a good living at this company is very jaded. The senior reps get the best leads while they dwindle down the worse leads to newer reps. This makes it very hard for a new rep to get on his feet. However, management will explain this to newer reps in a way to make it seem like it is benefiting them.
This has caused the turnover ratio to increase greatly at this company.
During interviews, they will tell sales reps that everyone makes $70k and above, which could not be farther from the truth.
They will force you through a very extensive training program which ultimately does not do anything because the sales reps do not follow the scripts while they are in the field unless a manager is with them.
This is not an equal opportunity employer as everyone does not get the same opportunities. It is a shear popularity contest. I would avoid this employer if at all possible.
Also, all of the reviews you read on this site other than this one has been submitted by the company's management team. This was stated at an in office meeting.
