Hard working, transparent company

Pros

Employees at Threespot work hard for clients who "do good", which makes coming into work so much easier. The company's owners are transparent about almost every facet of the company's business, and host monthly town hall style meetings to go over news and to rely information. Benefits are better than any other company I've worked for and the company's values are in line with people in the "do unto others" mindset.

Cons

Because Threespot works for such prestigious clients in the non profit and government sector, there is a lot of pressure to do really great work. It can be stressful, but at the same time it does tend to bring out the best in people.

Thanks so much for your perspective! It’s true that our work for “the good guys” can make it high-pressure - we absolutely throw everything we have at our clients and projects. It’s aligned with our values to be “all-in” when it comes to serving our clients and their causes, and I know it’s not for everyone. I hope that the rewards for serving the kinds of clients we do make all the stress and effort worthwhile!

The little agency that could?

Pros

Threespot has some very passionate and talented people on their creative staff. They have an amazing client list and care deeply about socially progressive issues.

Cons

You get the feeling that the management layer of the agency are living in the past. They seem to be frustrated that all they are doing are large re-designs for advocacy type organization but don't really understand how to expand their offerings. The work environment is really odd - conversation is frowned upon. They try to create a "library" type environment so that people can focus don't have to work typical agency hours. But people still put in 65-70 hour weeks quite a bit. So not a "fun" work environment and long, grueling hours - worst of both worlds.

Excellent Indie Agency

Pros

Threespot provides a truly creative work environment with a very strong staff. Threespot is great for mid-level agency professionals seeking an opportunity to do great work for non-profits, associations and other organizations. The work life balance is paramount and it is a family environment.

Cons

Threespot is strong in large-scale website redesigns -- it's work is primarily based in the non-profit and association worlds. There's limited upside for senior staff and the pay is less than at other gaencies (but so are the hours).
