Pros

Decent pay, constant overtime availability, and decent compensation/benefits.

Cons

Bad management, poor communication, less than desirable work/life balance, sometimes it edges hostility during peak seasons. New "Zero work from home" policy, Yet many still work from home.

Pros

Tidel treats its engineers with respect. Actually, Tidel treats all of its employees with respect. Development processes are very light, which means we are responsible for producing quality code without a lot of corporate overhead. They expect you to know your job, and trust that you'll get it done well. It is refreshing! Excellent team camaraderie. Work-life balance is appreciated. Sure, there are some urgent issues that require extra hours, but they are very infrequent. I have never seen another engineering organization in which people choose to remain for 10, 15, 20+ years. That says a lot about the company and its management.

Cons

Products have a long lifecycle, which means much of the code is being written for legacy systems (not bleeding edge technology). However, the newer products use more recent technologies. It will take time for them to become the dominant products.

Tidel is changing...both good and bad

Pros

Tidel is still a relatively small company (under 150 employees) so it has some of that family business feel and you have the ability to impact the business every day. Lots of really good people who care about the business and the people that work there. Really healthy work/personal life balance.

Cons

Tidel is healthy and growing which has resulted in changes to the financial structure and the involvement of several outside investor/ownership groups. This has increased the level of red tape and politics and made the workplace much less enjoyable than in years past...I guess that's the price you pay when you're successful and grow and have more "outsiders" who get involved and have a financial stake in company results.
