Pros

The kids were the best part, and there are dedicated and caring staff.

Cons

Management and HR. This is the worst organization I had the misfortune of working at. The seniority do not care about the people who work for them. I have witnessed racism, nepotism, backstabbing, dishonesty, passive aggression, entitlement. Abuse is also tolerated here, whether it is verbal or physical abuse towards the staff by upper management and HR, another employee or certain families who exhibit disgusting behavior. The uppers at all levels look the other way because the money that comes in from the districts matters above all else. (They’ve dealt with low enrollment for years and are afraid of losing students.) Over time it starts to wear you down. It’s a toxic environment that no one should have to endure especially since on top of the incendiary behavior they pay horribly, the hours are ridiculously long, and hardly no vacation time as it’s a 12-month program. Run as far away from this place as you can. I regret the time I worked there. Every. Single. Day. as do many other employees who have since left. All the reviews that describe the truth here about its toxicity, etc. are accurate. Heed the reviewers’s advice for your own long-term well-being and safety!!!!

Pros

Good benefits, can independently teach your lessons and manage through other teachers in a team, surround yourself in learning the students with different special needs, rewarding experience and a good chance towards growth and patience.

Cons

Some teacher assistants can be hard to work with, administration can be very busy sometimes and depending on who you speak with, try to get what you need to get done as soon as you can. Waiting on other teachers can be tiring to get work done. Teachers have to fill out a lot of paperwork, normal routine when working with Special Education.

Pros

Clean, well-appointed building and facilities Highly trained, caring teaching staff

Cons

Low pay Management style very outdated. Upper management out of touch with reality and willing to cut off their nose in spite of their face. Staff treated as if they are expendable. High turn over among teaching staff is not good for students. Capped days...need I say more?
