Pros

- Majority of the non-managerial employees reflect the greater community of LA. Most of the care coordinators are people of color, with huge hearts that care deeply about the communities they serve. There is a loving camaraderie amongst the staff. - Most lower-tier supervisors are genuinely concerned about their employees

Cons

Most Americans and start ups believe that the private sector can manage any type of business better than the government, but this is not the case in healthcare and especially from what I've see during my time in Titanium health. - There is a serious disconnect between leadership and the care coordinators (which make up most of the Titanium extra staff). Leadership does not understand the day-to-day duties of care coordinators. Rather, they evaluate performance by quantity of interactions they can bill to insurance companies. This is the problem with profit-centered healthcare organizations, and it gets in the way of providing quality care for our clients. - The work load is intense and you are given around 50 clients to contact a month, which is a lot considering you connect members with food, housing, transportation resources etc.. In order to meet daily quotas, most care coordinators have to forgo the breadth of quality care - The paper work required for each interaction is A LOT and can be exhausting. Yet another thing that eats away at our time - I understand that Titanium is a new company, but it has not prioritized building relationships with community organizations around them. How do we connect clients with the proper resources for housing, drug/substance counseling, if the care coordinators are not sure what is available or who to contact. If our job is providing resources... why don't we know what resources are available? - More recently, the CEO sent out a company email that was incredibly tone-deaf of the current political climate. Many care coordinators took offense, and the subsequent apology was weak. The situation was emblematic of the disconnect between leadership and CC's, and leadership that isn't well-versed enough in the mechanics of healthcare .. and general social equity?

I would like to say that Titanium values your feedback and appreciates any form that it comes in. HR would enjoy talking to you about improving the resource guide and developing relationships with other organizations, which I presume is community-based. We will respect your desire to be anonymous and will reflect your feedback to the right leaders to implement. Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. Pros

Great co-workers and remote work

Cons

Disorganized mess. This company lacks clear expectations, policy and procedures. Upper Management is egotistical on a good day. Boasting of their "hard days" in the British Countryside, struggling to hatch a plan that would allow them to exploit millions of dollars from the American healthcare system. Case managers aren't given any real support, or respect. They don't tell you in the interview that you'll be doing a lot of cold calls; pushing a program on people to turn a buck, but that's exactly what they expect you to do. Glorified telemarketing. This company has found a way to exploit a system designed to serve the poorest and most fragile folks in our healthcare system, while offering their employees little to no training or supervision at all. Also, no background checks prior to being given access to all kinds of protected health information. It's a mess and these types of CM jobs are all over the place. If you have a choice, shop for employment elsewhere.

Care Coordinator Review

Pros

There are opportunities to be able to assist people who may not be getting the help they need. Care coordinators help each other by sharing resources and giving advice.

Cons

Not much support is given to care coordinators to help people meet their needs. Other care coordinators often end up being the most helpful resources. Supervisors often micromanage despite not providing sufficient guidance to help care coordinators get the assistance they need. New guidelines and procedural changes are introduced on a regular basis without much of an adjustment period.
