Pros

Discount was somewhat okay, but unfair that discounts were not the same across the warehouse stores- yet the warehouse team received our staff discount at torpedo7???

Cons

Where do I begin. As an assistant manager, I received 0 training. I entered the job when we first changed to the “new system”. I soon learnt that this new system had not been explained to anyone. They sent one person to Auckland to learn about it- this person was a teenager and completely unreliable, and didn’t come back with any ability to train staff. Not only did I have no training, but my manager would leave the store for long periods- sometimes 2 hours, 3 hours, or sometimes not show up at all, so you can imagine the immense pressure that was put on me- especially when our system didn’t work, and we received countless customer complaints about our untrained staff giving 0 advice or help on products because the training infrastructure was never provided, as well as complaints about the extremely long waiting periods for items. People were still waiting for their Christmas presents in February!! Many lost in transit or were never sent. Taking up front payments when you cannot guarantee when the product is going to arrive, especially 7k+ bikes, without a customer receiving them IS THEFT. Customer service line was always hours of wait times, I really feel for the workers in the call centre.. they were untrained too and often, when asking for their advice, they would be none the wiser. An absolute mess of a company and gave me extremely bad mental health problems to the point where I had a mental breakdown. I did reach out to HR but received delayed responses and generic “advice” with how to get it through to my manager. However, after countless meetings it seemed my worries were always deflected and the “new system” was to blame. I’m sorry but no- poor management, putting pressure on staff and lack of staff are to blame. Oh yeah, our staff turn over was insane. And two weeks after leaving, torpedo7 was sold due to the complete debt and deficit the company faced. I have since heard that the shop was open with only two staff members and had to borrow staff from other warehouse stores lol
