Pros

Great group of coworkers, weekly sponsored lunches, a gym and extracurricular activities.

Cons

There is a cabal of people who started at this company 15-20 years ago who are now in AVP/VP/CUO levels. They will not listen or implement employee recommendations. They will only do what the owner asks them to do (which is capricious and a moving target). They will not be fired or replaced. Politics and turf battles rage daily. The owner has brought in several C-suite executives over the last three years that have failed to turn the company around. Instead of promoting from within, they hire from without at companies the executives used to work for. Employees that could run departments - better than those currently in place - are exiting. Existing employees are being asked to do more for the same pay. HR is powerless even when serious concerns are raised. Company strategy wildly sprays across the map as they struggle to retain market share and profitability. New product? New market? New acquisition? New CEO? Another new CEO? Write policies? Now cancel those policies? All par for the course and it's incredible how the management responsible for errors and bad judgement are not held accountable. To all the employees - no, you are not crazy, this place is really that out-of-joint with reality.

Toxic - Fear Driven

Pros

Employees are extremely talented, smart, and a joy to work around. In truth, it's the only reason anyone stays. Has potential to pay well if you can stick around long enough and stomach the constant stress born from the seeds of conflict and confusion inherent in poor leadership at the top ranks.

Cons

Quietly downsizing. Many folks that bought into the "we're your family" culture years ago discovered it was a lie. Fear permeates systemically in all departments. I heard this was especially true in IT where a bully rules and thrives under the auspices of Corporate Goals. Human Resources appears to have been rendered powerless to protect the employees. And so, the voice of the people who work together in hopes of one day having a decent work environment cannot be heard over the brutal march forced upon them by a misguided Company that has lost its way and forgotten the Golden Rule.

Numbers don't tell the whole story.....

Pros

Relationships, staff, and overall benefits

Cons

Company changes direction/focus on a routine basis. Knee jerk reactions by management are common place and numbers rule the day. Hired a bunch of Sr. Executives that have no business leading an organization and/or have come from organizations that have failed in the past. Their is no "common sense" leadership and all the "glue" employees have either been let go or left on their own. Customers and employees appear secondary to profitability. How can you expect to your employees to take care of customers, when no one is taking care of them?
