During the first 3 weeks, I spent my time shadowing others in different departments...There was no "clear" department I would be in. They threw around all these "big" titles to me about supervisor this and that. but no real follow through. I believe the time I joined was especially difficult as this was when they were opening the Oakville location. There was also immense pressure to start calling customers from my previous employer to try and poach them, which I wasnt about to do (especially not right away) I feel like most of the staff in there do not know how to maximize the use of TruckMate, which was unfortunate, as it has so much to offer, and I felt that management didn't appreciate that I was able to help train staff on how to better utilize the program. Rotating Saturdays were really less than ideal, especially after working Monday to Friday (they should've had designated weekend shift staff- I didn't complain about it though, I thought this was what everyone did when they first started off, turns out- that's not the case) Overall the environment seemed super appealing at first, but the open concept really allows people to holler across the room instead of walking over to you...and when a coworker (who may not be as professional as you) is not happy with you...the entire room knows- which is humiliating...and just flat out disrespectful. It certainly does not promote good morale in the workplace.
