A case study on how a company loses its soul

Pros

It was a great company when I started. We were a family of very talented and quality-oriented individuals producing amazing content. The courses that they offered before the mergers were created with the learner in mind. They were engaging and easy to digest.

Cons

A private equity acquired the company, and then the board acquired a couple of smaller companies, they put all the new people in management, and the new leadership got rid of the team responsible for creating the amazing courses that made this company great at the beginning. The new courses they offer might check the compliance boxes, but the employees (final users) taking the courses will hate their time going through these overwhelming cheap-quality courses. It's a shame.

Well implemented remote work, but that is about it

-Fully remote work. -Company sends needed equipment. -Early release on Friday's. -Upward mobility.

Cons

-Increasingly Corporate -Poor upper management -Do not listen to employee needs -Very homogenous culture despite being a company that sells Diversity training -Many I talked to was too overloaded with work to take advantage of benefits (PTO, guided meditation sessions, Diversity focus group, etc) -Claims of transparency from the top that is not followed through upon -Also worth mentioning that the CEO (Arendes) (and possibly other upper management) came to submit a review here. They will of course be biased. Kind of disingenuous if you ask me.

The company has some very good people.

Cons

It was purchased by an investment company to flip and later merged with a competitor. The honeymoon is over. Looking to cut costs and "remake" the company.
