Pros

I got to learn a lot by myself during my time at both Transcendent Endeavors (the parent company) and Canopy Innovations. It was a great journey as long as I managed to get leadership out of my team's way and actually accomplish things.

Cons

The positive reviews posted here are fake - and have been reported to Glassdoor several times by different employees, without success because the CEO's Executive Assistant has been posting them using different, newly created, email accounts. There are more fake positive reviews than actual employees. That relates a lot to the type of (or lack of?) management that governs the company through its CEO: the company culture is sad to look at, with the CEO pushing for sales of products that are not close to being developed, and actually signing commercial contracts that will not be honored. Another problem is that the CEO's knowledge of business is surprisingly limited, despite having gone to NYU Stern for his undergrad - he will not only wrongly employ buzzwords, but will also try to implement concepts that are created in his own head and that have no possible real-world application. It is especially sad because the products that were supposed to be developed target the underserved population, and even though the NIH funding was supposed to be behind the development of this ideas, it is actually being used in a different way.

The management does not make sense.

Pros

Professional, talented, and friendly co-workers.

Cons

Management is unprofessional, unfocused, and indecisive. Management is also ill-informed about the nature of the company's work, leading to unrealistic expectations. Each employee job title does not begin to describe the inevitable responsibilities for the employee, who winds up taking on the responsibilities of many employees, and fulfilling job functions that are entirely unrelated to their field. There is also an overall atmosphere of mistrust between the employees and management. Management rarely listens to advice from employees (who are educated and/or experienced in their fields).

Pros

Like it was stated by others: some of the best co-workers one could hope for

Cons

Just go ahead and read every negative review that was posted here, it's really hard to top(bottom) them, but here goes: Bill Tan is a useless megalomaniac. The only three skills he has ever mastered are: 1. Milking the government (wake up NIH!) 2. Stringing together terms, buzzwords and random words, all framed in a pseudo-academic tone while being utter nonsense. 3. Sucking the energy and will power from all who around him. Bill Tan's sexist attitude toward women borderlines harassment at times. His capricious change of opinion - about any subject - feels like on some monthly cycle. Bill tan misappropriated government funds while maintaining a lavish lifestyle.
