A Great Balance of Challenge and Autonomy
Pros
Work on innovative projects that make a lasting impact. Although I've worked for Transtecs for 2 years, I've been able to have many opportunities to mentor other designers within the same contract. They see value in my willingness to work on aspects of the projects that I have experience in that is beyond my job description. Ability to work remotely-based on a certain amount of time at the company.
Cons
Hiring process felt a little non-transparent and could have avoided some stress with better communication. No overtime on my contract. There was some misunderstandings and possibly lack of transparency as to how the time off works of "use or loose" prior to the one year mark; which caused a few co-workers to no get to utilize some of their paid time off. I should technically be at a senior level role and felt a little mislead on how contracting works and how my pay is based on an open role on a contract.
