I worked at Trapeze full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great people. Great work. Hard working CEO. Saw very few firings during my career at Trapeze. Lots of interesting work but always a consistency to keep growing and hitting new milestones. Rob Balfour was an incredible leader with distinct vision at every corner of the industry. Long live Trapeze.

    Cons

Same old cons every agency has, except we never had to worry too much about eh-holes.

I worked at Trapeze full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get to work with great knowledgable people and the work you get is interesting. The creative team is a blast to work with and you get to brainstorm with them even if you are a web developer on how to make the site better. You have good structures of teams with a lead front end and a lead backend and you are learning new stuff along the way

    Cons

you work overtime and you have to deal with office politics unfortunately. the project managers will argue about the alotted time for you and make you feel crummy over this. they dont do any code reviews so if you code badly how the hell will you know?

    Pros

Great dev team to work with - Very nice people

    Cons

Management is not supportive and pushes work on subordinates while they take it easy and don't face their responsibilities

I worked at Trapeze full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Get placed onto projects that go live within weeks of working there. Get to work on short projects that take a few months to develop. Getting to work with Python and Django. Pays really well.

    Cons

The projects are the same. Not an agile environment: undocumented code, no unit testing on the front-end at all, expecting QA to catch all bugs instead of preventing bugs, no consistent release schedule. Overtime happens way too frequently and estimates are ignored or are aren't trusted by managers. There is no consistent coding style and the excuse offered is that each project is different. Constant interruptions and noise level is usually high. Account managers, project managers are sitting near developers which breaks their concentration and has probably caused a lot of bugs. Headphones are a *must*. More interested in warming a chair than in producing good code. Problems and technical issues are swept under the rug and hidden as much as possible. Development occurs in silos. There are no constant teams, you don't know who you'll be working with on the next project. Project managers play favourites and developers are assigned only to things that they've already done. There is no room for growth or learning. They mess around with contracts; some developers were contract-to-hire past the typical 3-month period. No one has been promoted unless promotion means more work without a title change or salary increase.

I worked at Trapeze full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Interesting projects, good mentoring and a lively team to learn from.

    Cons

It got stagnating for me after 2 years. As in other small design firms, the protocol for making design decisions is quite dictatorial, and because of the small scale of the team, there wasn't much scope for monetary growth.

I have been working at Trapeze full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Strong set of principles underlying all of the work. The processes are well documented and are sensible, if they are not sensible then a good discussion takes place to improve them. Relaxed work environment; things get done on time but at a relaxed pace.

    Cons

Open concept office, can hear everyone chatting, headphones are a must.
