Pros

Friendly work environment, high priority placed on professional development

Cons

Too much emphasis was placed on the extra benefits of working there, rather than the basics. Consulting is a constantly changing set of work conditions, so some projects could be good, others not.

Pros

Treliant was once a great firm with a lot of talent. It was an excellent resume builder if you had little experience, because you learned a lot from your teams and various clients. There are still a small number of good people at the firm, and they seem to be bringing on a lot of senior team members with impressive credentials.

Cons

First off, you can tell a lot about a company by how they treat the people that leave. If you’ve spent any significant amount of time at Treliant, you’ve probably heard of the various ways that they have slighted previous employees. During the exit process, you may be met with everything from general contempt to unfairness when they pay you out for your vacation time. Team members that leave on a good note and respectfully should never be treated this way. The nature of the business means that you can be placed on a great project, or stuck on something miserable for an extended time. Good team members can make even the worst projects enjoyable, but Treliant is quickly running out of competent middle-management with adequate leadership skills. There is no accountability for poor leadership, and the longer you stick around the more you hear (and if unlucky, experience) horror stories of workplace bullying and even sexual and non-sexual harassment - which goes unchecked. The senior management plays favorites with a handful of people who can get away with anything. Worse, there is no transparency regarding any form of compensation and you’re often left wondering if you’re being paid fairly compared to your peers. If you ask around, you might be shocked to learn where you stand. The senior team members don’t offer much inspiration anymore. The last year did not see much success, and it looks like the company is circling the drain. All of the best people are gone, and what remains is an empty vessel speeding ahead in no particular direction. This is undoubtedly due to the many departures over that last two years and mismanagement of resources and people. Treliant used to be a firm that cared about its people. And it was a great place to transfer your industry skills, or even start from scratch. Now, the outlook is more bleak than ever. I would not recommend anyone join Treliant. Aside from the previously listed concerns, which are only a fraction of all the problems here, the firm does not seem fit to weather the upcoming storms. It would be a miracle if they could survive the next year, much less turn a profit.

Pros

unethical trickeries used but easy to catch if you examine your paystub carefully

Cons

If you are a consultant considering the offered by Treliant, this review is for you. You will be encouraged to work extra hours since you are new and you are eager to save the contract and keep the client. Treliant will try very hard not to pay for your extra hours. Say, you work for 60 hours but you will be paid for at most 45 hours. Consider the rest of it a tax. Even for the 45 hours, if you do not examine your paystub diligently, your payments will be skipped. Treliant will not worry about you leaving -- you will be laid off the moment you help Trelian save the contract and keep the client. Your work will be inherited by those whose families have a personal relationship with the top grass of Treliant.
