Pros

They will hire you right out of college as this is the experience they are looking for. They hire fun loving, smart, college graduates. The only pro out of my whole time working at Tresata was that I made a core group of friends in Charlotte. I enjoyed working along side some of the nicest co-workers who were willing to help me any chance they got, as the management did the COMPLETE opposite.

Cons

While the one and ONLY pro was that they hired intelligent college graduates, they do this for a reason. Tresata looks for people who they can take advantage of. Young adults who don't know the difference between how a sane work environment should be versus a manager belittling you any chance they got. Now that I am in a real work environment with sane people who do not put you down any chance they get and actually want you to succeed in what they are teaching you, I can see just how absolutely abusive and toxic Tresata is. The Chief Sales and Marketing Officer is the most disrespectful and toxic person there, aside from the CEO himself. At one point my coworkers and I were scared to simply write an email and press send because we knew that we would just get an aggressive reply, passive aggressive reply if we got lucky. If you ever think about applying to work with either the Chief Sales and Marketing lead or CEO directly, to put it bluntly, just don't. No matter how experienced you are in your work field, no matter how hard your work ethic is, it is and will never be enough for them. A lot of my colleagues would ask me how I do it or why I stayed as long as I did and my answer was always “well it will get better” or “its my first job its supposed to be like this”. I should have never been through half of the things that i went through at that place. Nor should I or anyone think it is a normal work environment. So if you are looking at this page wondering if you should take the offer…. DONT. JUST DECLINE AND LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Pros

Somehow, despite everything, they do a really good job of hiring smart, capable, good people to work here after graduating from college. I genuinely enjoyed almost all of the people from my hiring class (before they all quit or were fired).

Cons

Abhi (the CEO) prides himself on working to make Tresata the happiest place on Earth. The irony, of course, is that through his work, he has made Tresata the most toxic, miserable work environment imaginable. I did not even understand what a "toxic work environment" meant until I started working here. As I am writing this review I want to be thorough and honest, but I really don't even know where to begin. To start, the company is small enough that pretty much everything and everyone is directly controlled by Abhi. This is not necessarily a flaw in itself, but unfortunately Abhi falls somewhere in the gray area between an egotistical, incompetent buffoon and a literal con man. Nobody in the company respects him, but everyone works in constant fear of him. The collective blood pressure of the employees rises so much on days when he is in the office that it is almost palpable. During my time at Tresata I witnessed him interact in ways with his employees that were both immature and totally inappropriate (yelling at people when they did not see things completely eye to eye with him, cussing employees out in front of others, mocking employees for asking questions in meetings, etc.). None of the others in management ever stand up to him, either in fear or because they just don't care. Unfortunately for those still working at Tresata, things seem unlikely to improve anytime soon. We were told during training that Tresata had realized that they had a turnover problem and were "working to fix it", only to have Abhi announce during an all-employee meeting shortly after that Tresata in fact does not have a turnover problem, and that turnover is 10%. I saw 10+ people quit or be fired in my first three months, so I'm not sure if Abhi just thinks his employees can't do basic math or if he immediately wipes the existence of these people from his brain as soon as they leave the company. This highlights another underlying issue, which is that while management is fully aware that the employees are unhappy (as will happen when you have less than 40 employees and almost all of them are unhappy), they are completely in denial that this is due to any problem with the company's culture. Abhi in fact has brought up in meetings that he is aware that people are upset, and rather than trying to understand why that might be, he yells at everyone about having a better attitude. ADVICE TO POTENTIAL FUTURE EMPLOYEES: If you get a job here, read some of the reviews on glassdoor before committing yourself to the abuse and toxicity of this company. Don't be complacent because you got one job offer and don't feel like continuing your search. Practically anywhere in this city would provide a better, healthier work experience than Tresata. Accepting a job offer with them is agreeing to insane work hours and zero appreciation for what you do. If you are a robot or someone who enjoys being made to feel worthless by your superiors, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear.

Pros

A couple of months ago I would have mentioned some leaders are the only good people in this company but it's become clear that everyone here now lives in fear of the big bad wolf (the ceo). I would have also mentioned all the amazing engineers who i get to work with, but there all gone now so no, there are no pros here

Cons

There isn't an HR department in this company. If that alone doesn't concern you, then read the following. Investors, please take control of this company. The ceo is completely ill equipped to be in any form of leadership position. The company as a whole had the potential to be much more profitable with appropriate leadership. The company needs day to day leaders who aren't straight up sycophants to the ceo. It needs leaders who don't make empty promises to employees. Leaders who actually invest in the growth and development of the employees and sadly, three are none in this company. I will again call on the investors to take a closer look at how their money is being spent. You could be making much more returns if the company did not have such a high churn rate.
