Pros

My coworkers are the reason that I keep working at Tri County. In my experience, the therapists that Tri-County hires are wonderful clinicians who love kids and are very knowledgable in their fields!

Cons

I've seen many colleagues (myself included) raise concerns about having to use PTO for client's "no shows" and that they do not offer sick time off/sick days. No solutions have been offered so far and, from what I hear from fellow employees who have been here longer than me, this is the tale as old as time. Employee concerns are not taken seriously and are continuously being downplayed and swept aside. It is not sustainable to work here as there is minimal growth in positions, pay, and flexibility with productivity requirements. As far as I've seen, almost all employees are actively seeking other jobs as they work here. The front door of the clinic is a revolving door of therapists. I have been with this company for 1 year and 1 month and I have seen 10 therapists come and go just in this small office alone. It leaves therapists and parents scrambling and management expects the employees to pick up the pieces each time. If management would consider being flexible on some of their policies I truly believe constant turnover would not be a problem. I've watched several of my colleagues ask for support that was not given to them and they had no choice but to search for a job that treats employees with more dignity and respect. Not only are therapists impacted but families are constantly moving through different therapists and this is a big disruption in a child's therapeutic progress and overall care. I would not recommend any fellow SLP's, PT's, or OT's to work at Tri County Therapy for the reasons listed above and many more not listed.

Pros

Opportunity to gain experience in the outpatient peds setting with on-site collaboration with OTs and PTs

Cons

- Although positions are described as salaried, compensation is closely tied to meeting weekly productivity targets (e.g., ~X hours of direct patient care). If these targets are not met-due to patient cancellations, no-shows, clinic or school closures, or therapist is sick/on vacation -PTO may be reduced to offset the difference. - PTO accrual rate is relatively limited compared to industry standards - Holiday pay is provided at a reduced number of hours, which may not reflect a typical full workday for therapists. - Significant portion of job responsibilities happen outside of direct patient care (documentation, coordination, scheduling, preparation, communication with families), - These structural challenges may contribute to frequent staff turnover and across disciplines (speech, OT, PT).
