Pros

The people. Triangle has been blessed with caring individuals who do their best on a daily basis to implement ABA. As an employee, I developed relationships with the staff here that will last years. As with any company, your daily compatriots can make or break your experience, and the lovely employees at Triangle made me stay as long as I did.

Cons

The owner/ceo is the biggest detriment to Triangle ABA. She is a deeply unserious person who flip flops on the direction of the company at a whim, makes pay changes that affect employees' paychecks without notifying staff of said changes, and cannot take feedback without taking it personally. On the occasion when she is needed on the floor to supervise cases, the staff report to supervisors that she has a poor bedside manner, constantly hurt feelings when giving feedback, and often, her feedback does not make any sense relating to the case.

Pros

It taught me what to look for and avoid in future employment. Some of the staff really care about their clients (just not the owner).

Cons

I strongly advise both prospective employees and families seeking services to stay away from Triangle ABA. During my time working there, I witnessed numerous red flags that compromise both employee well-being and client safety. The owner, Amber Nelms, appears more focused on her presence as a “social media influencer” than on the day-to-day operations or the needs of her staff and clients. This misplaced focus contributes significantly to the dysfunction within the company. The work environment is disorganized and poorly managed. Staff are frequently undertrained, leading to serious safety concerns—particularly troubling in a setting meant to serve vulnerable children. The company also has a pattern of overhiring without securing enough clients, resulting in new employees being abruptly let go shortly after being hired. This reckless approach has left many staff members in difficult situations with no warning or support. Amber’s management style is erratic and unprofessional. She often undermines qualified professionals, disregards their expertise, and creates a toxic, uncomfortable work culture. Her behavior and attire in the workplace are frequently inappropriate and do not reflect the professional standards this field demands. She is reactive rather than proactive, making impulsive decisions that damage the company’s stability and diminish the quality of care provided. Several third-party vendors and consultants have been brought in and quickly dismissed because they did not conform to her unrealistic and controlling expectations. If you are looking to work in the field of ABA or are a parent seeking support for your child, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are far better, more ethical, and more stable organizations out there. Triangle ABA is not a safe or supportive environment for staff or clients.

Pros

client and a handful of coworkers made it bearable.

Cons

I strongly caution anyone considering employment at this clinic. The work environment is extremely challenging due to poor leadership. The owner, Amber, frequently changes policies without informing staff and then disciplines employees for unknowingly violating these uncommunicated rules. She consistently avoids accountability and is quick to blame others when problems arise. There has been significant staff turnover, including multiple BCBAs and numerous RBTs, largely due to the lack of effective management. While Amber presents a polished image on social media, this does not reflect the reality within the clinic. Communication is often condescending, and attempts to discuss concerns are met with dismissal or termination. Additionally, if you choose to resign and provide a standard two-week notice, be aware that it is unlikely you will be allowed to complete it—Amber typically terminates staff immediately to maintain control over the situation. Proceed with caution.
