Pros

Amazing work culture, very flexible with hours, a company that actually has morals (not just says they do), supportive environment, great communication and involvement of the entire team in every process in the business

Cons

Slightly unclear KPIs and therefore career growth is hard to quantify

Pros

Lots of great people to work with and learn from. The leadership have heart and reinvest into the company and its people. Abhinav and Dan are a good team.

Cons

Since it is client work, some projects are better than others, depending on many different factors. However, the company is adaptive and is not afraid to turn away clients that are not a good fit for the way we work.

Pros

I echo much of what some of the other reviews have said; hands down some of the best people I’ve worked with and incredibly smart. Engineering talent is extraordinary and when things are going well, it’s a collaborative environment and you actually deliver value to clients which is is gratifying. Client work is interesting and it’s a place where you get to challenge yourself.

Cons

Unfortunately, especially Trineo Boulder, is going through major growing pains and the culture is one of distrust. There is a lot of potential, but there needs to be a massive focus on actually practicing what they preach and building trust between management and employees. They tout being a flexible company but if you need to take personal time it’s expected that you over communicate to the entire office your plan of “making time up.” This policy and requirement can make you feel a little micro-managed and that there is pressure to operate at 100% capacity. They are passionate about “people over profit” which is admirable, but in turn they keep on low performers/poor company culture fits for far too long in fear of turnover and how it might look. This puts a ton of stress and pressure on higher performers to carry the weight which makes them feel taken for granted and creates resentment on teams. Career growth opportunities are lacking and unclear. Management needs to be okay not being involved in the day-to-day client work; stepping in at random times creates thrash and, again, makes you feel micro-managed or you aren't capable because you didn't do it their exact way.

Hello. Firstly, I want to sincerely thank you for your feedback. It is absolutely viewed as a gift, and will help us mature as an organization. While I would certainly prefer a more direct and less anonymous version of this, I appreciate the time you have spent putting your thoughts down. I wanted to take the same amount of time and respond here, but ultimately, I would hope and encourage, when the time is right, to talk through some of this live and in person. Curating the culture and crew of Trineo since 2010 has definitely been the most rewarding and challenging aspect of starting and developing our little company. This has been especially challenging and enjoyable as we have become a company that is comprised of people from many nations and cultures. These people are used to different expressions of language, tone and day to day conduct. We work hard to establish a foundational approach that serves us as a whole, while recognising that each region, office and individual has needs which might be specific to them. You’re right - we have to improve on a number of fronts and I agree that there is always room for improvement. I’m thankful that after 9 years, in this tech industry defined by the turbulent rise and fall of companies, that we steadily continue on this trajectory of steadily achieving evolutionary milestones that see us gradually transform and improve. As a clear representation of our desire to constantly improve, I hope you and the team as a whole see great benefit from our ever deeper focus on People through hiring a very experienced Chief People Officer and the development of a critical function of People Experience. These people are tasked with helping Trineo to navigate this evolutionary process in service of our most valuable facet - our people. Specifically, please consider that this team is tasked with providing a platform for our people to communicate openly, develop / evolve and grow with us, through career trajectories, training and learning opportunities that will fuel their professional growth and more. Once more, thanks for being vocal and sharing your perspective here. To me, this highlights your desire to provide a valuable insight into how we can improve and that you care about this to the extent that you’re willing to take the time to share. We’ll work hard to incorporate this into our focus ahead.
