Pros

Trozzolo attracts good talent, and you'll get to work with fun people.

Cons

Talent will not stay if the agency continues its old-school ways. They do not offer maternity leave, which will always baffle me from an agency that puts its stake in the ground at “family.” They’re clock-watchers who don’t allow working from home or any kind of flexible hours. The day-to-day process and inner workings are extremely antiquated, using paper printouts of every correspondence put into clear job jackets that pile up everywhere. Beyond being bad for the environment, that process is so counterproductive. While I’m sure these things are great for profit margins, as they illustrate each month at staff meetings, they're not great for people. Overall, the culture always made me feel like I was walking on eggshells around the true family– senior leadership and those who lead the silos of different various small agencies within Trozzolo.

With all due respect, this review should be discounted. This particular individual only worked at our company for 80 days. As such, the post contains several inaccuracies. Our PTO policy and other generous benefits – both tangible and intangible – offer a very competitive package in a strong, close-knit culture. One would need to stay beyond 80 days to fully experience that. Ironically, this person was hired to help optimize the production process. However, in their 80 days, no viable solutions were offered. The average tenure of Trozzolo associates is 8+ years. That includes adding new staff each year. In 2018 alone, 10 net new people were added to the company. That tenure figure is well above average in the marketing world. Our hiring process is robust and designed to ensure a good fit for all parties involved. On rare occasions, this process fails us. This was one of those instances.

Manage Your Expectations

Pros

Smart and genuinely talented coworkers in each department. Company's overall financial information is presented to employees monthly. Impressive dedication to charity. Almost every project is started with good intentions. Neat building. Convenient downtown location.

Cons

It's a pretty typical overworked/underpaid agency grind - stay late to get ahead, pretend like the industry awards matter, etc. Nothing unusual. Manage your expectations and you will likely succeed. Accounts are well-run but creative gets mangled by uninspired, "because I said so" direction and poorly managed review timelines. Digital and social is too often an afterthought so projects often end up feeling dated. Professional growth is limited. Pay is average-to-below-average depending on position but consistent with industry. Also, despite a strong emphasis on "family" culture, these values are only extended to a few. Don't drink the "Kulture Koolaid" and again, you'll be fine.

Pros

Amazing coworkers. Some of them.

Cons

Their policy for handling your concerns (about your career path, your workload, etc.) is gaslight, gaslight, gaslight.
