Pros

The people who worked there were incredible and exceptionally talented - not that that was ever used or appreciated.

Cons

I don't usually review companies, but I can see Trtl have started to hire again (after making EVERYONE redundant, and the last few leaving swiftly after), and I think it would be unfair to let someone go into a role blind. Michael Corrigan is one of the most egotistical and nasty bosses I have ever had the displeasure of working with. He worked his staff like dogs throughout the pandemic- we were often working 11-12 hour days to get what he wanted to be done. (then he would change his mind meaning we would need to start again) Do not expect the ability to be creative; Michael will want you to do what he asks to blame you when his plans don't work. Trtl held monthly catch-ups with Michael, where we were meant to open up about how the pandemic affected us. Usually, this would be an information finder for Michael about other staff, or he would reply to emails whilst speaking with you. The staff was asked to work on furlough. Michaels favourite phrase was "this is a marathon, not a sprint," but due to his ever-changing mind, you were usually going the 26 miles at the rate of Usain Bolt's 100-meter dash. I watched Michael make people cry on work calls for no reason. Michael would also fuel the flames on any inner company issues by refusing to speak for himself and having staff members send messages for him to remove himself from the situation. When we were made aware of our risk of redundancy, Michael went radio silent and refused to speak to anyone. Our redundancy calls lasted on average of 1 minute each, and we were not thanked or apologised to, told this was difficult for the company. After this, many staff had issues getting their belongings back from the office (which he wanted us to go into throughout lockdown against government advice purely for "coffee"). Staff were also treated as criminals when returning company property. Trtl could be a wonderful place to work if Michael left. However, he is truly an awful choice as a company head. He has let go of the two people who not only ran the company but regulated his behaviors, and that to me is a sad thought for anyone who might go into a future role at Trtl.

Pros

Co-workers. They clearly have an eye for good talent

Cons

You only have to look at the fact they’ve now lost 5 members of their marketing management team (CMO included) in the last year to see there’s a major culture problem here. Reporting into the CEO is being set up to fail from the get go, he forces you to execute his ideas, exactly how he wants them, on the timescale he decides. He takes no feedback or input from the experts he has hired, and then when it inevitably doesn’t work - you take the fall for it, never him. Or it’s brushed under the rug with no acknowledgement or apology. To work at Trtl in marketing is to go against everything you know to be true and right about the discipline and throw it out the window, constantly fighting an uphill battle against management. The mood changes like the wind and with that timelines, strategy and common sense go to the wall. HR is a waste of time, exists to be a puppet and or guard dog of the senior management team. They are not on the side of the team and seem to only upset people, insulting them with constant title changes and ‘pay rises’ of circa 50p a year. Easily the worst job I’ve ever had. P.s. forcing employees into a (frankly horrible) office 3 days per week and giving them 30 mins of flexi time in the morning isn’t a modern work environment.

Pros

Trtl has always been very generous and supportive to give staff opportunities to travel and learn! I've travelled to many countries with Trtl for business and Trtl have sponsored courses for my further learning. Prior to Covid, many of the team had travelled to India, China, Europe and the US for various business activities. I've learnt a lot and definitely broadened my horizons. Great colleagues with awesome talent!

Cons

It's an ambitious company and therefore tasks can be challenging but this is also an opportunity to grow and motivate people to do so!
