Pros

I came on board as a video editor thinking I'd be making slick property tours and market updates. I was wrong, in the best way possible. This isn't just a real estate company; it's a stealth AI company that happens to operate in real estate. My job is to translate their incredibly powerful tech into compelling stories, and it's the most exciting creative challenge I've ever had. Here’s what stands out: Real Creative Freedom: This isn't a "here's the script, just make it look pretty" kind of place. I'm involved from the concept stage. My input on how to visually represent complex AI concepts (like how our models analyze a deal or predict market shifts) is not just heard, it's sought after. I'm a storyteller, not just an editor. The Content is Genuinely Interesting: One day I'm creating an animation to show how our local LLMs (like Qwen2 72B) process data differently than a generic API. The next, I'm cutting together a fast-paced sizzle reel showcasing the "hidden gems" our AI has uncovered for investors. It’s a geeky, fascinating intersection of tech and finance that forces you to be smart and creative. Your Work Actually Ships: We're a small, agile team. The video I finish on Wednesday is on the website or in a marketing campaign by Friday. There's zero bureaucracy. You see the direct impact of your work immediately, which is incredibly rewarding. You'll Accidentally Become an AI Expert: I'm surrounded by people building and using state-of-the-art AI on a massive in-house server. I couldn't tell you what an "EPYC CPU" was six months ago. Now, I understand the difference between models, the importance of a private AI stack, and can hold my own in a conversation about it. It’s an incredible learning environment.

Cons

It's a startup, so you have to be comfortable with a certain level of ambiguity. This isn't a place with rigid, established processes for everything. You Have to Be Comfortable Building the Plane as You Fly It: Sometimes a project brief will be a conversation, and it's on you to take that idea and turn it into a concrete visual plan. If you need a highly structured environment with layers of approval, this might feel chaotic. If you thrive on autonomy and love shaping the process yourself, you'll see this as a huge pro. It's a Steep Learning Curve (in a Good Way): The subject matter is complex. You have to be willing to ask questions and learn about real estate investment and AI to do your job effectively. They don't expect you to be an expert on day one, but they do expect you to be curious and eager to learn.

Pros

Flexible job with lots of autonomy and an ability to make an impact in the organization from day 1. Lots of growth opportunities and scaling opportunities. Management team cares about who you are and what you do. Ability to be promoted quickly if you have a higher performer

Cons

No real cons working with TruPorch Homes. I wish I could have stayed forever with this company but my significant other got a great job opportunity in California.
