Great place to grow and develop your skills
Pros
I joined Trueface as the 8th employee more than 2 years ago and have since seen the company more than triple in size and go through a successful acquisition by another private company. My experience with Trueface has been extremely positive. At the time of joining the company, I was a new graduate and didn't have any experience in computer vision or machine learning, but the management decided to give me a chance because of my "will do what it takes to learn and get it done" attitude. Despite feeling a little intimated when first starting, I was able to take on the role and with the support of my teammates and eventually grow into a senior position (I am now quite knowledgeable in computer vision). I therefore feel that working at Trueface was a great investment in my future as it allowed me to develop highly desirable technical skills. Aside from what I've mentioned, here are a few more pros: - Work flexibility: Even before covid, Trueface was very lenient with working from home and allowed employees to work a few days from home each week. After the pandemic, we are now fully remote and therefore have employees working from all parts of the world. - Cool projects: At Trueface you will be working on the most cutting edge technologies (machine learning, face recognition, computer vision, etc). - I like the style of engineering management. The engineering managers don't micromanage you and don't hound you daily. Instead, the onus is on you to get your necessary work done. Additionally, you get to play a large role in the design of solution. - Nice balance of research and coding. Even as an SDK engineer, I do still have time to do research and learn about the new and latest technologies out there. - Your opinion is heard. You can easily voice your opinions or concerns to the managers or even the CEO.
Cons
- The company somewhat lacks the camaraderie which is built from working in-office with other employees. However, I think this is outweighed by the freedom to work remotely.
