Pros

I like my current manager.

Cons

Be cautious about the positive reviews on Glassdoor: leadership regularly asks specific people to give positive reviews. Extremely disorganized, with no sense of direction at all. The CEO changes his mind every 2 days about the direction he wants to take the company in, but is frankly too disengaged to do anything more than force everyone to redirect & change strategies before ever having an opportunity to be successful. The CEO has also been clear that he's only in this to become a billionaire. People get fired regularly, without any proper warning and/or opportunities to improve if management feels that they are underperforming. Loads of micromanagement. You will be successful if you are a straight, white man. Leadership loves to talk about their Ivy League Education, and they love nepotism. The company has shown little to no support for diversifying the employee-base. If they do, it's just lip service. They have no EQ either.

Pros

The flexibility to be useless at your job, multiple happy hours within a week, beach clean ups…..

Cons

Nepotism at it’s core. Leadership hires friends and mutual connections, fueling an exclusive and toxic work environment that does NOT place importance on work ethic and potential; therefore culture does not exist at Truework. As such, there are many poorly-defined roles. The company claims to be a transparent company that fosters growth and collaboration, you can forget about that. 90% of leadership consists of white males. Moreover, the office is predominantly white males. There is little to no diversity within gender or ethnic groups. Leadership abuses that by building a hierarchal, top-down environment. Ironically, leadership believes they are promoting ownership of work when in reality they micromanage heavily. Self-righteousness causes them to be blinded to the fact that their micromanagement crushes morale, trust and teamwork. Zero autonomy in the work you do. Truework values the career growth of the yes man. The only way to be promoted is not through hard work because hard work is not valued or appreciated at Truework. If you’re looking to advance your career or seek any mentorship, look elsewhere. Management is incompetent. First-time founders are inexperienced. Truework is truly nothing but disastrous. Good luck to investors!

Pros

They're really awesome at flagging reviews to be removed! Awesome work!

Cons

Nepotism is truly valued here, and in fact, encouraged. If you have disdain for those that benefit career and monetary wise through nepotism, you probably shouldn't join Truework. In fact, a lot of our current team has been employed by this! With nepotism also comes huge favoritism and work immunity carried out by leadership to those lucky individuals that know how to game the system well enough as well. Culture wise, Truework preaches about empowering individuals with ownership, but in reality, a lot of the leadership enjoys micromanaging. If you hire people to do a job, you should probably entrust them with executing their respective responsibilities. Furthermore, if you don't enjoy toxic work environments where "collaboration" is met with fierce competition from your colleagues, then steer clear of Truework. Something about the talent that we've attracted has brought about a constant competition to look better amongst your colleagues to your manager, which is counterproductive to actually doing meaningful work for the company. If you're looking to develop your career, look elsewhere. You will be promised plenty of career growth because of the ever growing nature of the company, but that's really just bait for you to sign and join. Little to no upward mobility here, so don't bother if you're looking for a workplace that values loyalty. No real appreciation is shown to employees for doing good work, and is merely brushed off, because at the end of the day the environment at Truework is such that every employee is expendable. Upward and onward! Little to no diversity within the company. The company doesn't believe it's that urgent of a need, nor does leadership, as the consensus is that any efforts and work done for this initiative doesn't need to be proven or shown. You are to blindly trust that the cofounders (all of which are entitled/privileged) will really be invested in diversity.

We are so sad to see reviews like this posted, behind a wall of anonymity without any accountability. One only has to search through LinkedIn to see that Truework does have a diverse workforce and diversity and inclusion initiatives are an incredibly important focus for us as we grow. While we take every review seriously, we do not tolerate falsehoods and defamation- it is unfair to the group of individuals who are proud of the work they do and appreciative of the support they receive on a day to day basis. 2020 has been a challenging year for many and we've experienced incredible growth as a team and business despite this adversity. Our team actively seeks to employ and develop a diverse workforce across all roles and functions. Our culture is grounded in transparency and respect. We value hard, thoughtful work and foster growth through collaboration and experience, putting an emphasis on ownership and results. Our values help us retain this focus: - Design the Future - Value Diverse Perspectives - Consumers First - Be Resilient We encourage all employees to share their feedback directly to foster an open and honest conversation with leadership and their managers.
