Pros

Most of the servers are adults who take it seriously. Everyone holds each other accountable to a similar standard.

Cons

They treat their female managers horribly. They drive them away even if they're the best thing to ever happen to that restaurant. And then bring in inexperience pompous male managers who THINK they're the best thing to ever happen to that restaurant. I thought that I had found an escape from my previously toxic restaurant. Turns out they're all the same, just different names on the building.

Pros

Location (downtown Austin), Clientele, Pretty Building

Cons

Poor leadership from the top down. Narcissistic owners who enjoy taking up the best table on Friday and Saturday night to show off to their snobby friends. I never saw any of the owners stop and ask an employee what their name was or thank them for working there. This culture trickles down to the hourly managers who care more about looking cool than taking care of their employees. (Except for Chris Jones) This in turn leads to a negative work environment where ego's are allowed to go unchecked, which leads to the hardest working employees turnover being very high, and Truluck's longtime employees being a very stuck up bunch who think their special just for working there. One of their most prized servers trained me and I wanted to walk out on day two because he was telling me all of the managers dirt, who's on drugs, and who's sleeping with who. This same server who introduces himself to tables as a sommelier, but isn't even a level 1. Managers don't care what a liar he is though or how terrible he is to fellow employees, because he fils a role and looks good on paper. That's how you should generally view employment at Truluck's, looks good on paper and fulfills a role, but don't get your hopes up for good people or a meaningful work experience.

Pros

None. Worst place to work, ever.

Cons

Extremely demanding for what it is. It’s basically a glorified Outback. Management is a mess. They fire people left and right, sometimes for no reason at all. They even set ridiculous demands, so, if you’re not fired, you’re pushed out. The owners/CEO will walk in without even acknowledging the host staff. Just walk past you. Just a really horrible experience.
