Pros

Helping patients and families understand end of life issues. Fulfilling work if this is your calling.

Cons

So many. Was just informed by management that I should be working a 40 hour week instead of the 36 hour week I signed on for 3 years ago. Told me instead of 3 12hour shifts I now have to work 2 12hour and 2 8hour shifts. I would make the same pay and work 4 hours more each week, or take a reduction in pay equivalent to 4 hours. That's a 10 percent pay cut! They have also reduced our paid time off, eliminated weekend work incentives and retention bonuses reduced mileage reimbursement. The reasoning was they are not "cost effective." Word of mouth amongst my infuriated peers is "we are replaceable". We are now hiring new grads, no more experience required, because Trustbridge can pay them less.

Pros

Flexibility with scheduling being a field team nurse. Developing long term relationships with patients and their families. Going home every day even if it was terrible day knowing that I've made a difference in someone's life. Yes that's true for all of Nursing but at the end of Life Care any little thing that you can do to make a difference is exceptionally poignant. They also have their own Warehouse and supply all their own medical equipment and their own Pharmacy it's a huge operation and even the delivery drivers are educated on end of life if they have the compassion when delivering oxygen for example to explain it gently to family and patient when in the home. Interdisciplinary staff are immensely supportive and CNAs are mostly Heaven Sent.

Cons

My salary as an RN was $10k less than what the work amounted. Blood sweat and tears (my own). Team Physicians can be exceedingly difficult to work with and management supports the MDs over their team of nurses, better financially to retain an MD than replace a nurse. Very disappointing Trustbridge.

Pros

Good PTO plan - as most Healthcare companies offer.

Cons

Poor senior management, understaffed, focus is on the executives not the patients they serve!
