Pros

They do pay you on time, but did not even honor my interpretation of my offer letter (promised a “performance based” bonus of up to 10% of my salary but got a measly profit sharing derived bonus, was essentially told to shut up about it when I raised the issue), so even the most basic thing is hard to call a positive.

Cons

Extremely toxic workplace environment, so much so that it bled through and made a remote experience intolerable and truly traumatizing. If you don’t want to go to work in a male high school locker room type environment, you will anything but thrive here. Also, I witnessed the company win people over, convincing them to leave solid and stable jobs, only to lay them off in a relatively short time. No one I knew felt secure about their job. I quit without a job to go to just because I was so desperate not to continue to suffer there, so I can count myself among those whose careers have been derailed by this inhumane company (their social media presence is 100% marketing, not a real representation of the company - there was even significant internal descent about that).

Pros

- Good initial prospects - Some great team members to work with - Lot of promise(s)

Cons

- Terrible communication and zero on boarding - Lots of employees found offer letter changed after they signed it and were told "tough" after raising the issues - Company promises some work/life balance but ends up being all work with no added balance to your checks - Once project is done, you will get fired for no sound reason - Toxic work environment with knives in the back - Management sees employees as tools rather than the lifeblood of the company

Pros

Pursuing this path was a substantial deviation from my prior professional life. With that said, I had been looking for an organization like Turner Mining Group for quite a while. I was specifically searching for a company with the intuition, drive and audacity to combine the following key components; •ample access to truly life changing professional opportunities •the generally misunderstood assets of career youth and inexperience for both company and employee benefit •an industry in which the demand for people was much higher than the immediately visible supply. Turner Mining Group is doing exactly that. They match focused and driven individuals with potentially life changing opportunities in an industry in which the workforce is otherwise unable to maintain its labor demands. They ARE changing the game for the better. Before someone begins their path with Turner Mining Group, it would be in a candidate’s best interest to avoid comparing it to other jobs. It would be very difficult to gauge the full potential of this organization if you view it from the conventional J.O.B. lens. The potential of and within this organization is tremendous. Joining Turner Mining Group could be the beginning of something truly spectacular. Its intensely fulfilling to be a part of something larger than one’s self. Plus, who doesn’t love moving lots of material with heavy equipment?

Cons

If you’re just looking for “any job”, let me save you some time. Just enough to get by won’t get you by. Turner Mining Group doesn’t do anything mediocre. The expectation from top to bottom and vice versa is that everyone is on the same team and pulling on the same rope. We need each and every person in this organization. This can be daunting for some. The mining industry is not for the faint of heart. After all, mountains don’t move themselves. The days (or nights) are long. The work environment can be exceptionally unforgiving due to weather conditions. The actual work is extremely demanding physically and mentally. Every project is different and there really isn’t an idle pace. In addition, most of the our projects require travel for weeks at a time away from family and home life. But, if that doesn’t scare you away and you’re looking for more than “any job”, Turner Mining Group might be just the place for you.
