      Terrible hours, pay, miscommunication, no training

      They provide space where you can work Most kids know what to do already The supervisor was friendly

      Cons

      The director who hired me knew nothing about me I was promised hours and they kept getting cancelled/switched around (they can cancel your hours while you're there) You will supervisor more than tutor You will be placed with students that are outside the subjects you were hired for (think AP level subjects for very little pay) I was told even the best job performance does not ensure raises until at least a year later

      Pros

      This is a tolerable job if you love to teach or work with kids.

      Cons

      You'll tutor up to three students at a time every hour. The students are typically working on very different assignments, which is hard to balance. If a kid doesn't like you for any reason, then your schedule gets reduced. You will also get called into work with less than an hour's notice.

      Part Time Tutoring Position (3-4 hours Shifts)

      Pros

      Most of the time, the students are easy to work with. For my location, the tutoring comprises mostly of specific help on homework.

      Cons

      Little pay and very short tutoring shifts (3-4 hours). Once in a while you will get a young student who is very difficult to work with and will stress you out for the rest of your tutoring shift
