Pros

The take home pay was decent and helping people who needed the help was satisfying, somewhat.

Cons

Let me just put it this way, if I could give a negative 5 stars, I would!! This company is by far the worst company that I ever worked for in my life. I am not joking!! This company has little to no benefits, their hierarchy is a joke, their vacation/sick leave is a joke, their policies, procedures, protocols are absent, they are completely loosy goosy and are so laxed that nobody knows they are doing well or not, because they don't find out until they are fired. This is a horrible horrible place to work and I was bittersweet about it. I was out of a job, but I wasn't so glad to leave a place that didn't so closely resemble hell and management that didn't so closely resemble Satan and his crew. Again, this is by far the worst job that I ever had and the people that they hire it seems are mostly drug addicts, drunks or others who wouldn't be able to get hired by any other company!! This company works on fear and uses scare tactics to try to keep its people under control!! Just an altogether horrible place to be or work at!!

Dysfunctional culture

Pros

Services are effective and really make a positive difference for veterans.

Cons

Incredibly dysfunctional organizational culture. Staff input is not welcomed or considered, even for decisions such as requiring staff to work evening or weekend shifts when this was not previously an expectation. There is no accountability for performance or professional behavior at the site level, resulting in high staff dissatisfaction and turnover. Site location has ongoing safety issues that are not being appropriately addressed.

Worst Company I have worked for

Pros

Flexible hours, come to work when you feel like it and go home when you feel like it. Other than that, none that I can think of.

Cons

It is run by favoritism, if you are in the favored group you can do what every you want and if not, nothing you do is right. Very bureaucratic structure, many useless meetings. Pay is very low for what the jobs are. Several times a year they request (demand) the employees to go to their friends and relatives and solicit donations. Many of the donations given to the company are wasted. The idea of housing homeless vets is good, but carried out very badly. Employees have been drinking on the job and only given token punishments. Benefits are very bad, pto and sick time are half or less of any other company
