- 4.07 Nov 2023Patient Access RepresentativeFormer Employee, less than 1 yearSanta Monica, CA
Pros
- flexible schedule - great managers at the Santa Monica location (not so much at the Westwood location) - great experience (got to work across the ER, and different inpatient units) - $35/hr pay
Cons
- no health insurance - no guarantee on hours (I would give them 30 hours of availability only to get called in 8 or 10 hours a week) - some annoying coworkers who make others pick up after their slack

- 4.012 Nov 2023Research AssistantCurrent Employee, more than 1 yearLos Angeles, CA
Pros
You gain great exposure to all forms of psychological research, and are given a lot of responsibility. It is an amazing learning and networking opportunity.
Cons
Most research assistant positions are volunteer-only (unpaid) but still require long hours and tedious tasks (e.g., driving to different sites, etc.)

- 2.020 July 2023AdministratorCurrent Employee, more than 10 yearsLos Angeles, CA
Pros
-Good benefits -Opportunities to transfer -Very good pay for many positions -An effective, wonderful CEO. Ms. Spisso is a very smart and effective CEO who clearly cares about employees. She is the platinum standard of taking care of business - running a huge organization - while treating people with respect, dignity and kindness.
Cons
-Untrained and often inept department leadership that creates more problems than they solve -Zero organizational employee appreciation - or acknowledgment -Almost no concern for employees as humans. No work-life balance, etc. -Awful, awful HR department that makes everything difficult. Almost NO ONE in HR ever answers their phone or returns calls/emails in a timely manner. Different people give different answers. It's widely known how inefficient and non-responsive the HR department is and that their top leader, Suzie, couldn't care less. This has gone on for years. -All employees have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to park at work, even temporary and contract employees. -Most departments are routinely understaffed, so front-line employees have a much larger workload than they should. -The union seems to run the show in many departments because management and HR are mostly ineffective
