Pros

I'm assuming those who gave 3-5 stars must not work in the O.R.. No pros.

Cons

Management is poor and there is no leadership. I don't know UCONN's (Farmington) infection rate, but I assume it's very high. Perhaps that's why they don't share the number in their weekly emails. Due to the lack of leadership, there is no trust, and there is certainly no respect. Hasn't this place ever heard? "A bad system can destroy good people." Management believes they have to project control at all times. Controlling behavior isn't leadership, it's a mental health issue. There is discrimination, name calling, way too much gossip, and way too much unnecessary drama- all of which is the direct cause of ego. They can't keep employees, half the contractors leave before their contracts run up, and the negativity isn't worth the pension after 10 years. Management needs to change. This place will break eventually due to the lack of quality care, and when it does, it won't be pretty.

Pros

Great benefits, benefits are the only thing that’s great at this place.

Cons

This organization is outdated and lags behind in innovation. Salaries for many administrative positions do not align with industry standards, and remote work opportunities are minimal. There is a significant disconnect between management and employees. While managers and individuals in higher roles earn a large, significant amount, union employees receive only small annual pay increases and are confined to predetermined pay ranges that are intentionally lower. Meanwhile, management—many of whom contribute little—continues to be well compensated. Additionally, management has a habit of taking employees’ ideas and running with them without giving proper credit. If you’re in the union, your degree, certifications, and additional qualifications will do little to advance your career. The best reason to take a job here is to gain free education and experience—then leave at the first opportunity. Staying long-term offers little growth, especially when there are far better opportunities outside this health system.

Pros

Nothing positive to say based on my experience, sorry.

Cons

I applied and was scheduled for an interview. The day of my interview, while I'm heading to the location, a different individual calls to tell me the position has been put on hold and they need to cancel my interview and I'll get a new interview date once they resume their process. Never received another interview date and when I followed up with the person who called me, their response was as if I bothered them "as you heard, XYZ employee is no longer with the agency and this position has been put on hold." Well, no actually I didn't hear they are no longer with the company LOL. Just a ghetto experience, and company. I can't imagine being an employee if that's how they treat their candidates. They could've even done a courtesy screen or had a 15-min convo... just unprofessional. I think what's more disappointing is that the two people who I interacted with both seem to be pretty high up. But not an ounce of professionalism clearly. Yikes.
