Channel Planner Assistant- Tolerating bullying and intimidation
Pros
Unfortunately as I was bullied while I was working at UKTV and the company stated that it feels ‘comfortable’ I struggle to find something positive about this employer apart from stating that it is a toxic employer.
Cons
While I was working at UKTV I was bullied by a specific (semi) senior person for 3 months and although I had provided enough concrete evidence and facts to the relevant department in order to prove this nothing had happened. All the evidence had been dismissed, the story was twisted and they tried to cover the perpetrator because he was considered more important than me due to his commercial experience. The same perpetrator had previously made 3 female employees cry because of the way he treated them, 2 of them left the company because of him and although the core parties of the company were fully aware of that they did absolutely nothing apart from being ‘comfortable.’. Specific departments have such a high staff turnover so it should concern the company as it clearly shows how unhappy the employees are hence they leave the company. Generally UKTV is a company with very poor morale, principles and procedures and unfortunately it does tolerate bullying, intimidation, inconsistent and unfair recruitment processes as well as unscrupulous and divisive senior employees. As a company it is too desperate to be at the top so it only focuses on commercial success and it neglects to take care of its staff. Outrageous!
