Pros

Flexibility is very good and PTO is great. The work like balance keeps employees.

Cons

There is entirely too much favoritism in the Houston area. The only way for the Nurse Practitioner be successful is by winning the favor of the site chief. It’s extremely backwards in the context of the registered nurses are over the NP providers. The NPs are at the bottom of the hierarchy in terms of value. If you’re looking for a Mid level position that values nurse practitioners, keep moving forward because this is not it. The HR department is incredibly non helpful to us. They cater to the idea of the NPs are not necessarily needed. They just “ let go” of several of us a few months ago to cut costs while there are still people who are allowed to take advantage of time and resources because they have the favor of their site chief. Do not work here if you’re looking for a fair and supportive environment.

Pros

US Anesthesia Partners has a relative good benefits package, including medical, dental and vision that start on day one, 401k, and reasonable PTO. However, PTO no longer rolls over from year to year, and you cannot cash it out when you leave.

Cons

The management of this company has gotten worse the bigger the company has gotten. Many mid-level managers and directors are so busy trying to take advantage of a growing company to climb the corporate ladder, that they no longer care about the staff that actually keep the company going.

Pros

-The data entry/billing side of things is easy. If you have a decent manager/director then they don't care what you do (listen to podcast/music/have on a tv show/movie) just so long as you get the work done. -Good benefits including health insurance and 401k.

Cons

-When it comes to upper management, especially directors, they rarely hire from inside the company (if at all). The outside hires usually have very little understanding as to what works and will often try to have command over their employees rather than working with them. -A lot of work is outsourced to India rather than hiring locally. -PTO does not roll over and is given "up front" meaning if you go over a certain amount before "earning" it you might get a talking to. And if you do that and are fired or quit, then they will deduct the balance from your last pay check. -If you are on the data entry side you will have times where you will have to work what is essentially mandatory overtime.
