Pros

Autonomy to "run your own Business" Uncapped Commissions. Layed back office environment. Basketball hoop for guys, and TV lunch room.

Cons

Cold calling every day. Communication between ownership and management, to sales reps is laughable. Personal days, or sick days are not tolerated. (2 days/yr.) Frustrating commission process, answers are up to you to figure out. Misguided offer letter and pay tiers. Health insurance for $3-5k per year is too expensive. Favoritism and hostility is obvious. 10 days of paid vacation until 5 years is not competitive. Constantly researching sales and commissions takes valuable time away from your day. No clear forward vision, after years it is still not clear what kind of long term career is here. Small group of owners control all decisions, leaving everyone else in the dark while they go on trips and vacations. They can and will fire you for no reason at all. Good employees are not rewarded with anything but the occasional atta boy/girl.

Pros

Umm, I'm trying hard to think of at least one. I did gain knowledge about vendors and so forth, but the place is hard to work in. A hostile environment to work in.

Cons

Less than adequate direction. I was lied to repeatedly and should have never took this job. The owners don't care about you and only concerned with the numbers of dials you make each day. No mileage reimbursement. Lies, lies, and more lies.
