Good people, growing company, opportunity with some growing pains

Pros

Good group of people overall — pretty collaborative and easy to work with. Leadership is approachable, and you generally have a lot of autonomy in your role. It’s a growing company, so there’s an opportunity to take on more responsibility if you want it. The remote setup is a plus, and the benefits are decent.

Cons

Comp could be more competitive depending on the role. Growth paths aren’t always very clear, so you have to be proactive about figuring out what’s next. Some processes are still evolving, which can lead to some inconsistency across teams.

Thank you for taking the time to share this thoughtful review. We're glad to hear you valued the collaborative culture, leadership accessibility, and autonomy in your role — those are things we work hard to foster. Your feedback on compensation competitiveness and career path clarity is well taken. We're actively working to improve in both areas as we grow. Wishing you all the best in your next chapter!

Pros

There is a decent market for what they do

Cons

Lack of Strategic Transparency: Performance expectations are poorly defined and inconsistent. Meeting or exceeding established KPIs does not translate into predictable career progression or merit-based compensation increases, rendering the professional growth path effectively stagnant. Predatory Commission Structures: The incentive compensation model is designed with prohibitive contingencies that appear intended to minimize payouts. There is a documented pattern of "commission capping" or arbitrary adjustments on high-value contracts, often resulting in significant underpayment or total forfeiture of earned commissions. Credit Appropriation & Ego-Driven Leadership: Upper management exhibits a pervasive culture of credit appropriation. Leadership frequently intervenes in the final stages of the sales cycle to claim individual authorship of successes. This "zero-sum" approach precludes any genuine collaboration and is directly used as a lever to reduce the primary stakeholder's financial stake in the deal. Exploitative Knowledge Extraction: The organization aggressively harvests industry intelligence and strategic insights from staff under the guise of collaboration. However, these contributions are neither acknowledged nor rewarded, and are used to benefit the firm without providing any reciprocal advancement for the employee.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We take every review seriously, even when we strongly disagree with how the experience is characterized. We do not recognize the culture described here as reflective of how Unilog operates. Our commission structures are documented, communicated at time of offer, and consistently applied. Career progression expectations are defined within our performance review process, and we work hard to ensure those conversations happen regularly and transparently. That said, we know we aren't perfect. When a team member leaves feeling this way, it's worth asking whether we communicated clearly enough, set expectations well enough, and created enough space for concerns to surface before they became this. Those are fair questions we continue to work on. We wish this person well and remain committed to building a company where strong performers are recognized and rewarded.
