Change is needed before more people leave

Pros

The people who work at Unily is definitely a positive - there are some really talented employees within the teams. Worklife balance especially over the pandemic was good.

Cons

Unstable product and lack of testing causes a huge amount of issues when features are launched. New features get bigged up so much then are either really late on delivery or are delivered with a high number of bugs that customers then become frustrated and lose trust in the product. Customer facing teams have little to no voice in major decisions that impact the customers. Key processes change or features released without really having the Unily customer at the front of their mind nor any clear documentation or guidance as to what/why we have made the change which means that customer facing staff are left having to find information (most of the time technical info) from random sources and 9/10 each employee will provide different guidance. No unity between teams means that no-one is working together or towards the same goal. It can leave very fractious relationships between departments. Relationships within the Business - Having family/friend connections should be a strength to a business however unfortunately it left people feeling like they couldn't speak to managers about any frustrations they were having because they knew they were related and they could be treated differently.

Pros

There are some really great people there. The product has a lot of strengths. Company has a strong presence in the market. Marketing materials are slick. Client community site is industry-leading.

Cons

Culture generated by some leaders was toxic. Asking more and more from the front line but not willing to back them up. Family and friends connections are a strength but end up more of a weakness. Promotion opportunities are blocked by people in questionable positions for their skills and experience. Good people were treated badly, leading to exits. Product stability was dreadful in 2020 - people and new features saved many accounts. 2 very strong consultants were effectively forced out of separate regions. Sales performance and strategy were lacking in the last 18 months, high turnover in sales positions. Feedback gets batted away. Company doesn't work as one team. Hiring processes are very questionable - aware of a few people being passed over for promotion. Onboarding has often been criticised by new hires for a lack of process.
