Pros
Despite not being selected in the hiring process, I found great value in thoroughly researching the company and understanding its core values. This investment in knowledge not only enhanced my understanding of the organization but also equipped me with valuable insights that I can carry forward in future endeavors. Though my personal circumstances led to me being passed over for the position, I believe that the effort I put into understanding the company's ethos demonstrates my commitment to excellence and alignment with its mission. This experience has further reinforced my dedication to continuous learning and professional growth, ensuring that I am well-prepared for future opportunities.
Cons
During the interview process, I left a positive impression on both the hiring manager and office manager, but no decision was made regarding a start date. My concern stemmed from the possibility of accepting the position only to leave shortly afterward due to personal obligations. I refrained from disclosing this information to the recruiter or hiring manager, as I believe in keeping work and personal matters separate. However, circumstances arose unexpectedly when I received news on Wednesday morning that I needed to return to Wisconsin urgently. Despite my efforts to explain the situation to the hiring manager on June 12, I was met with skepticism, as there was no indication during the interview that an immediate start was necessary. Although I expressed my availability to start on June 23, I had to clarify that I would need to leave the following Monday, a week earlier than planned, due to a family matter. My intention was to accommodate my family's needs before beginning employment.
