      The students are truly lovely.

      Cons

      This is absolutely the most unprofessional place I have ever worked. Adjunct professors receive ZERO respect from the administration and administrators, or even from full time professors. After working here for four years with a very strong record, I was let go without even the courtesy of an explanation. My emails to the women at the head of my department inquiring as to my schedule for the next semester were simply ignored for a month. Finally, someone deigned to respond to one of my emails and told me there was no work for me.

      Pros

      I really liked Departmental Chair that I reported to - he was very down-to-earth, always had time for me, and was supportive during an absentee issue that required administrative contact. I had a lot of leeway in terms of curriculum development and really enjoyed the students I had.

      Cons

      They never sent my first paycheck (although worked out for my second), and, despite multiple requests, never got a mailbox at either location. Parking at the Elizabeth campus is terrible, and I had to pay every day. While the pay is better than other adjunct jobs I had, it is not great overall.

      Pros

      Most of the staff is friendly.

      Cons

      Very high expectations for low pay. Administration is passive aggressive, will smile to your face and take advantage of hard working employees. Hard work is rewarded with more work. Fortunately, I left just in time. Shortly after I left, many people started getting laid off.
